Solving the antifouling problem for chemical tankers
2024.11.22
The shark skin-inspired antifouling coating applied on the "Dingheng 28" ocean-going chemical tanker has achieved a new breakthrough in physical antifouling through its nano-scale micro-riblet structure. After eight months of real-sea tests in multiple sea areas, the hull remains clean and smooth, with an antifouling effective life of over five years. At the same time, it effectively reduces fuel consumption and achieves zero toxin emissions, offering an innovative solution that combines both environmental and economic benefits for vessel operations.
